Our Leadership

  • Ben Seyden

    Pastor / Elder

Ben Seyden was born and raised in Southern California. Saved at an early age, he clearly felt the call of God on his life. Following this call, he attended Baptist Bible College in Springfield, MO, where he met and married his wife, Jessica, and obtained a Missions and Bible Bachelors degree. After serving in churches in Texas and Oregon, he returned to Missouri and completed his Master’s Degree in Biblical Counseling, while serving on the staff of the Berean Baptist Church in Bolivar, MO. He was ordained into ministry by Berean in May, 2007.

In 2008, Ben and his family moved to Kankakee, IL to plant a new church. The Lord blessed their efforts and grew His Church through many saved and baptized. However, the economic recession brought the ministry to an end. Ben served as lay elder at Jackson Creek Fellowship Church for several years. He was active in teaching, growth group and counseling ministries.

Ben accepted the call to pastor St Anne Baptist Church in January 2020 after serving as interim pastor for six months. He is bi-vocational and works as a Marketing Director for a non-profit hospital system in Indiana. Ben and Jessica have three children, Andrew, Bethany, and Joshua.

  • Tom Ascher

    Elder

Tom Ascher became a part of St Anne Baptist in 2005. Tom and his wife Nicole served as youth group leaders for several years, and have been active in teaching and worship ministry. Tom joined the Elder Board in 2009 and continues to serve in that role. He works at Olivet Nazarene University as Director of Human Resources. Tom and Nicole have four young sons who are also active in the ministry of the church.

  • Jim Rattin

    Elder

Jim Rattin grew up at St Anne Baptist Church. Church ministry is in his blood, and is the heartbeat of who he is. He and his wonderful wife Denise have served together in every ministry the church has offered. They selflessly lead the Kids For Christ youth group on Wednesday nights and are active in adult discipleship. Jim is an open road truck driver for UPS.
