Our Story

St Anne Baptist Church is the oldest protestant organization in Saint Anne, IL. In 1858, three years before the Civil War began, the Baptist Home Mission Society organized the church as a mission of the Baptist church in Momence. The first pastor, Rev. Louis Auger, delivered his messages in French and held services in private homes. In 1864 a building was erected on the south side of Canada street.

Under Pastor J.O. Bentall the present building  on Sheffield street was completed and dedicated in 1900. In the 1950’s the new parsonage was completed, and the sanctuary was remodeled in 1975. In 2007 a multi-purpose building / gymnasium was added to the grounds.

In January 2020, Pastor Ben Seyden accepted the call to bi-vocationally pastor our congregation.
